Art Industry 2005
5.2005 – Art Industry 2005 Israel Festival, Jerusalem Theater, Jerusalem Curators: Doron Polak and Esti Drori Within the framework of the Israel Festival, the Jerusalem Theater exhibited the Art Industry Exhibition in honor of the 70th anniversary of industrial unification in Jerusalem. In this exhibition, I debuted my sculpture "Flight of the Tracks", which is made of metal waste, weighing in at five tons and towering to a height of 9 meters. The base of the sculpture is comprised of stone railway sleepers and iron railway tracks. The upper portion comprises motor parts and leans on the wheel mechanism of a railway car dating from the 1950's. The sculptural materials were taken from a foundry for railway parts using wooden templates. This foundry served as a source for railway parts for all trains in the Middle East until 1952. The sculpture was positioned in Shrober Square, in the Jerusalem Theater, during May of 2005. |
